As always, our game jam event is open to all. It is about creativity, collaboration and experimentation. We will assist in team formation if you are uncertain about what you would like to be doing for the event.
We have secured a venue and sponsors for event insurance and will provide a meal, and tea / coffee for the event.

Is it suitable for kids?

The game jam is for adults. It is not suitable for kids. Though you may participate remotely, if the parent/legal guardian takes on the role of communicating with the organisers and hosting the resulting game.
Our Discord server rules also prohibits minors from joining.
Why do we take a no-minors stance? Galway Game Jam is not well resourced to manage the additional overhead and concerns involved in catering to minors. I suggest looking into organisations such as Coder Dojo and Foróige, which are much better positioned to give a fun and welcoming experience for children.
Our team are happy to liase with these other groups if you would like to see more game jams happening in kid-friendly spaces.
